Overview
Global recycling company Sims Limited engaged Editor Group to comprehensively edit its annual and sustainability reports.
Project summary
Sims Limited is a global leader in recycling metal and repurposing products, employing more than 4,750 people in 13 countries. Through its work, the company plays a vital role in increasing economic circularity and decarbonisation.
As a large, listed company, Sims must meet Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), which the Australian Government began phasing in on 1 January 2025. This was a pivotal year for the company as it began aligning with the ASRS. It needed an editing team that could help produce documents reflecting the highest standards of clarity, accuracy and professional presentation.
Solution delivered
Our editors worked closely with the Sims team as we reviewed the company’s FY25 annual and sustainability reports, to align terminology between the two publications.
We edited to improve readability while ensuring technical accuracy. This process involved simplifying complex regulatory and technical language to make the reports more accessible to a diverse range of stakeholders. We corrected grammatical errors, enhanced sentence structure and eliminated redundant words.
We established and applied consistent formatting and style conventions across the reports, standardising references to reporting frameworks, business units, technical processes and environmental, social and governance metrics. We also identified areas that required client input or verification to ensure accurate technical disclosures and compliant content.
“Editor Group’s meticulous attention to detail was invaluable,” says Iris Caballero, Corporate Sustainability Manager, Sims Limited. “They helped us deliver polished, professional reports that effectively communicated our performance and commitment to all our stakeholders.”
