Project overview

Sydney Writers’ Festival is Australia’s largest annual writers’ festival – and one of the biggest literary festivals in the world.

It features hundreds of events with writers and thinkers, ranging from major speeches and interviews in concert halls, to more intimate talks, training workshops and creative sessions for children.

Pulling it all together is the detailed program published on the festival’s website. In 2023, 64,000 copies of the program were printed and distributed in venues across Sydney, making it vital that the final edition of the program is accurate and word perfect.

Editor Group has been pleased to proofread the program since 2014 as a key part of our role as a supporter of the Festival.

Working closely with the festival organisers, we fact check authors’ names, book titles and other details; edit and proofread all copy; and in some years, check final print proofs.

Here’s how the Festival’s organisers describe our contribution:

“As one of the world’s leading literary festivals, you can imagine we don’t like to have a single typo or mistake in our program, so we greatly appreciate Editor Group’s eagle-eyed proofreading and fact-checking support,” said Sarah Hunt, Head of Marketing and Digital.

“I’d add that they’re a pleasure to work with and have really helped to take some of the stress out of delivering the Festival each year.”
