Office of the Children’s Guardian

The NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian (OCG) is an independent statutory authority that promotes and regulates the quality of child safe organisations. When the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse created 10 Child Safe Standards for childcare organisations, the OCG adopted the standards and drew up a guide to help organisations establish or strengthen their practices. The OCG asked Editor Group to proofread these important guidelines, which cover everything from leadership and culture to policy making, physical environments and handling complaints. The guide is accessible as a resource on the OCG’s website.

We proofread the more than 50-page guide in PDF format, ensuring there were no typos and that the wording, style and design were consistent. Where necessary, we lightly edited the text to improve readability. Mindful that the guide was based on already published standards, we took extreme care to retain specific wording and the intended meaning of the OCG’s carefully crafted guidelines.
