Editor Group was delighted to once again sponsor the Sydney Writers’ Festival (SWF) in 2024, which took place from 23 to 27 May. We have been editing and proofreading the program since 2014!
One of the world’s best-loved writers’ festivals, this year’s week-long celebration of books and ideas featured 197 events centred around the theme ‘Take me away’.
Authors speaking at this year’s SWF included Booker Prize-winning author Paul Lynch (Prophet Song), book club favourite Bonnie Garmus (Lessons in Chemistry), iconic Australian actor Bryan Brown (The Drowning), First Nations’ poet Jazz Money (How to make a basket) and best-selling author Ann Patchett (Tom Lake).
As well as proud SWF supporters, we’re also enthusiastic attendees. Highlights for the Editor Group team included Nobel Prize in Chemistry–winner Jennifer Doudna speaking about her discovery of CRISPR-Cas9 – the foundation for gene editing – and subsequent advances in gene modification in humans. We also enjoyed listening to prize-winning Australian authors Richard Flanagan (Question 7) and Anna Funder (Wifedom) discuss their latest genre-bending works and the craft of writing.
And mark your calendars. Sydney Writers’ Festival returns from 19 to 25 May 2025.
